The husband’s right over the wife is greater than the wife’s. Allah said
وللرجال عليهن درجه
Men hold a higher status than women.
Prophet Muhammad said.
لو كنت امرا احدا ان يسجد لاحد لامرت المراه ان تسجد لزوجها
If I were to order someone to prostrate, I would order a woman to prostrate to her husband.
Also said.
اذا باتت المراه مهاجره فراشه زوجها لعنتها الملائكه حتى ترجع
When a woman leaves her husband’s bed and spends the night, the angels continue to curse her until morning
Hadiths in favour of the husband.
A person came to the Prophet with his daughter and said, “My daughter has refused to marry.” The Prophet said to the girl that she should obey her father. I swear I will not marry until you tell me the right of a husband over his wife.
Prophet said that the husband has the right over his wife. If there is an abscess on the husband’s body and the wife licks it, or pus and blood are flowing from his nose and the wife swallows it, she still didn’t pay the right. —-
Hussain bin Mohsin’s paternal aunt said something about her husband to the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) and the Prophet replied, “What is your position in his eyes? He is your heaven and hell.”
He also said,
Those among your women are the women of paradise who love their husbands and if they are hurt by them, they come to them and put their hands in their hands and say, “We will not sleep until you are happy with us.”
He also said,
There are two people whose prayer does not go above their heads
- A slave who ran away from his master until he returned.
- A woman who disobeys her husband even if he repents and stops disobedience.
He also said,
If I were to order someone to prostrate for someone, I would order a woman to prostrate to her husband. He holds significant authority over her. She cannot experience the sweetness of faith until she fulfills her husband’s rights. Even if he asks her on the camel’s back.
O group of women, if you understand the rights your husbands have over you, then each one of you should wipe the dust off her husband’s feet with her face.
These hadiths prove that a woman must seek the pleasure of her husband. She should prioritize her husband’s rights over her own and her relatives’ rights. Use all the means of love and cleanliness. She should not start taking advantage of him and not be proud to humiliate him, not to raise her voice against him, as some idiots and weaks do.
It is necessary for a woman to always maintain modesty with her husband, to keep her gaze low, to lower her head in front of him, and to avoid acting in a way that would diminish his status and break his heart.
Keep quiet when he talks, don’t argue with him, and submit yourself to him at night. Respect his relatives. And if she gets even a little something from him, consider it a lot. Don’t do voluntary fasting without his permission. Don’t go out without his permission. Thank him for the sustenance he gives. Breastfeed the husband’s children, take care of them and educate them in Islam.
